Wayne A. Maser, 65, died Monday, June 18, 2018, at his home in Vinton.
A celebration of Wayne's life will begin
at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018, at the George G. Luckey American Legion Hall in Vinton.
Wayne was born Oct. 30, 1952, in Waterloo, the son of Leroy and Alene (Beal) Maser. He graduated from LaPorte City High School with the Class of 1970. He served his country from 1970 through 1974 in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Wayne worked as a maintenance mechanic at John Deere in Waterloo and in production at Quaker Oats in Cedar Rapids. He also farmed and raised cattle in Missouri prior to returning to Iowa. Wayne was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and camping. He enjoyed playing cards and socializing. He also loved music and enjoyed attending many concerts throughout his life.
He is survived by his children, Shawn Maser of Batesville, Ark., Dustin Maser of Vinton and Lisa (James) Rowe of Minneapolis; his grandson, Daniel Maser; sisters, Lois Spillman and Joleen Maser, both of Waterloo; half-sisters, Shirley (Roy) Wyatt and Barbara (Duane) Kimpton, and half-brothers, LeRoy Maser Jr. and Eugene Maser, all of Wisconsin; and sisters-in-law, Marge Maser of Charles City and Lanell Maser of LaPorte City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Darwin Maser and Darryl Maser.
