Iowa City Police investigating robbery involving handgun

IOWA CITY - The Iowa City Police Department is looking for information about an armed robbery that was reported early Saturday morning in Iowa City.
According to a police department news release, at approximately 4:08 a.m. Saturday officers responded to the 2600 block of Roberts Road near Mormon Trek in Iowa City after an adult male reported he had just been robbed by two males, one of whom had brandished a handgun.
The man told police the two men demanded property for him and he gave them what they wanted, according to the release. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspects.
The two suspects were described as black males who were wearing dark clothing, according to the release.
The Iowa City Police Department was assisted in this investigation by the Johnson County Sheriff's Office and the University Heights Police Department, according to the release.
Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000 for information leading to an arrest. Police are urging anyone with information about this crime is to contact CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS (8477). All calls are confidential, anonymity is guaranteed, and the caller's identity does not need to be revealed for them to collect the reward, according to the release.
