To the editor:
On July 24, I had finished grocery shopping at Fairway Grocery Store on Wiley Boulevard. When I went to start my car, it would not start. A kind gentleman was walking in front of the car and I asked him if he could please help me that I couldn't get the car started. After lifting the hood and listening, he said he was quite sure I had a dead battery. He patiently waited while I was trying to call a tow truck when the car beside mine left, and he pulled his truck in next to mine. He said he had jumper cables and he'd like to see if my car would start. It did.
He would not take any money for helping me or give me his name. He is one of these great people we hear nothing about. I can't thank him enough for his kindness and 45 minutes of his time. With deep appreciation and your kindness I will never forget. I followed his suggestion to call places that sell batteries and get a new one installed immediately. I did that and am so glad to have that problem taken care of.
