Take advantage of caucuses’ influence

Iowans have a unique position in the presidential nominating process. Frequently, issues beginning here are later implemented by the White House. This requires consideration of what we want to get accomplished.
For me it is simple: Save our planet, generate better jobs and produce a more peaceful world.
It starts with addressing global climate change. The vast majority of scientists agree that climate change is man-made and we are likely to reach the point of no return in 20 to 30 years. We are seeing the effects through more severe storms and droughts, and also severe damage by wildfires. Without significant policy shifts, we and other global powers will be responsible for tipping the world over the edge.
But, we can't do it without renewable energy, like wind and solar power, and more energy efficient businesses, farms and homes. We can't do it without a workforce trained to do new, skilled jobs. We can't do it without becoming less wasteful and reusing our resources.
We need to support candidates who are clear with Iowans that this is an important issue and they have a plan to go to war on the factors leading the planet to the brink, hurting our children's future and effectively keeping us in a state of war over energy and water.
I appeal to all Iowans to ask questions of the candidates, find out what their positions are and support those candidates who put the United States, Iowans and the planet first.
