Watson, Marjorie Florence
Marjorie Florence Watson, 70, of Clinton, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010, at her home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, at Lemke Funeral Home South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Dr., Clinton, with visitation from 11 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Marjorie was born Dec. 5, 1939, in Lancashire, England, to Albert and Margaret (Taylor) Cartmell. She graduated from high school in 1955 in Blackpool, England. In June 1955, Marjorie moved to Clinton along with her sister Marie to be a Nanny for the Curtis family. Marjorie married Boyd Watson Sr. on May 27, 1960, in Clinton. She was a waitress for the Frontier Hotel for 20 years and then several years at Moe's Pizza.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and cooking, loved animals and traveling.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammy (Bruce) Dixon of Cedar Rapids and Tina Lemke of Clinton; two sons, Boyd “Pete” (Tatiana) Watson of Land O'Lakes, Fla., and Cloyd Watson of Clinton; 10 grandchildren, Tye, Travis and Ashley Klooster, Brooke Dixon, Josh and Nikki Watson, Curt and Chris Watson and Konnor and Logan Lemke; four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Helena, Ralston and Kaelyn; two loving sisters, Marie Cartmell of Clinton and Jean Whitesmith of Preston, England; four brothers, Albert Cartmell of Leyland, England, Brian Cartmell of Preston, England, Alan Cartmell of Broughton, England and Norman Cartmell of Leyland, England; and special friends, Judy and Jess McGilvrey of Camanche.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Tye and Travis Klooster, Josh, Curt and Chris Watson and Konnor and Logan Lemke.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, George Lemke; and one brother, Anthony.
