CEDAR RAPIDS - Police say a man stole a cellphone at gunpoint from the Wal-Mart store in northeast Cedar Rapids Saturday night.
Public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said the suspect, described only as a black male, pulled a handgun on a Wal-Mart employee in the store's electronics department at about 7 p.m. Saturday after asking for a phone. The suspect then fled through the store, at 2645 Blairs Ferry Rd. NE, and left through a main store exit.
The robbery remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
Buelow said the suspect has not been identified as the same suspect in at least three other recent robberies in the Cedar Rapids area.
