Hellentall, Lois M.
Lois M. Hellentall, 92, of Northbrook Manor, died there Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum will officiate. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Broadie, a son, Harold (Sue) Hellentall Jr., and a brother, Bill (Maxine) Kleiman, all of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Barb, Jeanne, Jarrod and Will; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters.
Lois was born May 31, 1918, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of George and Vera (Ewing) Kleiman. She married Harold Hellentall on May 8, 1937, in Rock Island, Ill. He died in 1988. Lois was a homemaker and a cosmetician. She was a member of First Lutheran Church as well as the Golden Girls and many other craft clubs. She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary as well as the Air Force Mothers. Lois enjoyed fishing, playing pinnacle, Tiger Woods, and the Hawkeyes. Lois was very supportive and family-oriented.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her many friends and beloved family.
A memorial fund has been established.
