Lois Lillian Wegner,
80, of Cedar Rapids, died following a short illness on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Mel Ramos. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial at a later date
Survivors include her husband, Ron Wegner of Cedar Rapids; sons, Wes (Maryellen) Durow of Lucas, Texas, Doug Wegner of Marion and Dennis Wegner of Denver, Colo.; brother, Jerold (Dritha) McCoy of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Chandler, Grant and Harrison Durow, all of Lucas, Texas, and Hanna and Jacob Wegner of Marion; brother-in-law, Dennis (Jane) Wegner of Delhi; nieces and nephews, Alex, Anna and Tess Wegner, Greg, Phillip, Matt (Michelle) and Rhea McCoy.
Lois was preceded in death by her father, Buel McCoy; and mother, Olive (Martin) McCoy Alberhasky; grandparents, Lois and Joseph Martin; nephew, Mark McCoy; and in-laws, John and Ruth Wegner.
Lois was born in Minneapolis, Minn., on Aug. 27, 1934, the daughter of Buel and Olive (Martin) McCoy. She married Ron Wegner on May 25, 1973. Lois worked at Allis Chalmers, Harnischfeger and Kirkwood. She retired as a secretary from Kirkwood in 1996.
The love of family and friends were foremost in her life. Lois was a member of the D.A.R. She also enjoyed playing the piano, singing, dancing and spending time with her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to either the Diabetes or Heart Association.
