David A. Henley
David A. Henley, 50, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at his home. Services: 9 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial: 1 p.m. Monday at Sixteen Cemetery, four miles north of What Cheer. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Survivors include his son, Walker Henley, and his mother, Jodi Fisher; his parents, Virgil and Janice, and a brother, Dean (Sheri), all of Cedar Rapids; his grandmother, Blanche Moore of Oskaloosa; several aunts uncles and cousins; and his German Shepherd, Reklaw.
David was born Oct. 2, 1962, in Cedar Rapids. He started Henley's Bait Shop in 1980 and also delivered 400 truck loads of fire wood in the winter. In 1992, David opened Sharky Family Pool Hall for 10 years. Through that time he met hundreds of young people. He built up a great business and made many life long friends.
David owned two Doberman Pincers until they died in 2000.
He enjoyed animals, playing pool, fishing, woodworking, gardening, motorcycles and especially the time spent with his many friends and his beloved family. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. He was a friend of Bill W.
A memorial fund has been established.
