CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – A 28-year-old Cedar Falls man was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court to more than 20 years for selling crack cocaine.
Robert Dale pleaded guilty last November to conspiring to distribute crack cocaine after being convicted of a prior felony drug offense.
At the guilty plea, Dale admitted that he and his co-defendant Mark Hopper sold a large amount of crack cocaine throughout eastern Iowa. Dale and Hopper purchased powder cocaine from a source in Mexico and cooked it into crack cocaine. Over four pounds of crack cocaine and two firearms were found during searches of their homes last September.
At the time of the conspiracy, Dale was still serving a term of supervised release that had been imposed following a prior federal crack cocaine conviction.
