Robert G. Conner, 80, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at Hallmark Care Center in Mount Vernon. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, followed by a memorial service at 10 a.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville.

Bob was born Jan. 31, 1937, in rural Linn County, the son of Francis and Luella Dorcas Conner. He never married.
Survivors include brothers, Francis (Loretta) Conner, Dale (Ronda) Conner, Mike Conner and Joe (Debbie) Conner; sister, Nelda (Keith) Techau; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Laurene Bohr.
Bob was a dear brother and always had a smile. He was a hard worker and liked by everyone who knew him. His prize possession was always the car and truck he was driving. He did farm work for many years. He lived and worked on the Melvin and Bonnie Pauls farm, where he made his home and continued to live with Bonnie after Melvin's passing. He also worked construction for many years.
Bob's family would like to thank the caregivers at Hallmark Care Center and Cherry Ridge as well as Essence of Life Hospice for their wonderful care and patience.
