Police looking into report of naked man on porch
The man was reading a newspaper, but he wasn't wearing a thing. Allegedly.
Police in Cedar Rapids took a report of indecent exposure in the 1600 block of D Avenue NE a little after 6:45 p.m. Wednesday. A caller said her neighbor was sitting on his porch and reading a newspaper in the nude.
Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said the man was described as “old” in the report, but didn't have a more specific age. He was gone by the time police arrived. Neither he nor the newspaper was located, Hamblin said.
It's not known if he was reading The Gazette. The paper is thinner these days, but the report states it still covered most of him.
