Cedar Rapids needs better restaurants

Kudos to The Gazette for its coverage of the Westdale dilemma ('Westdale mall shifts vision as retail falters,” June 2).
We were all duped, including our city officials. John Frew says there are more happy than unhappy people about its outcome. Wonder who they are, as I don't' know of anyone.
We appreciate the few good restaurants and clothing stores we have in that area. It seems strange though that a city our size couldn't support a couple more restaurants such as Red Lobster or Olive Garden. Look at their parking lots and wait-lists!
JCPenney, please stay. U-Haul self storage and truck rental - seriously?
