Video 1 - LB Quinton Alston talks about the night-and-day difference between last week's defensive effort and the one on the field Saturday against Illinois.
Eight different players combined for seven tackles‐for‐loss, Iowa's highest single‐game total since the season opener (9).
Video 2 - OT Brandon Scherff is ready for next week. Really, you can tell in the sound of his voice.
But seriously, Scherff and the rest of the OL were a big reason why Iowa rushed for a season‐high 304 yards, the fourth‐highest total under head coach Kirk Ferentz.
Video 3 - Iowa strong safety John Lowdermilk said defensive coordinator Phil Parker wants to stop the ball 'when it's in the doorway and not out in the room.”
That colloquialism will be put to the test next week against Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon and the Badgers.
Video 4 (below) - QB Jake Rudock said his shoulder was fine. He shook off a hit he took on a 6-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.
Rudock said he had it all together Saturday.
Rudock was 14‐of‐21 for 210 yards and two touchdowns. Rudock rushed eight times for 39 yards and a touchdown. The rushing score was his second this season and seventh of his career. The 39 rushing yards matches a career high.
QB Jake Rudock is 6‐3 in nine career starts on the road. Iowa is 3‐2 on the road this season, including 2‐2 when Rudock starts.
