What will Harkin’s legacy be?

I have been an ardent supporter of Sen. Tom Harkin for 30 years.
I am proud of what he has done. Those of us with disabled children really appreciate all the time and effort he put into the Americans with Disabilities Act. What an accomplishment! This is what he should be remembered for.
Recently, I learned that new Medicaid rules have been released that will take away funding for sheltered workshops.
I hope Tom Harkin will quickly intervene to ask the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to modify the new Medicaid rules in order to allow for funding of sheltered workshops in Iowa.
If Sen. Harkin decides not to act now on our behalf, I'm very concerned that the lasting legacy of Tom Harkin will be unemployment for our severely disabled people.
