Dr. Victor Thomas Wilson, 76, of Grinnell, passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, at the University of Colorado Medical Center in Aurora, Colo., from complications of cancer.
Mass of the Resurrection will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grinnell. Interment with military rites will be at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell. Visitation with the family present will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church, with a Scripture service at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be designated to Grinnell Regional Medical Center, St. Mary's Catholic Church building campaign, MARS Foundation and the University of Colorado Cancer Center, mailed c/o Smith Funeral Home, P.O. BOX 368, Grinnell, IA 50112.

He was born Oct. 17, 1939, in Muscatine, Iowa, and graduated from Muscatine High School in 1958. He was a Nile Kinnick scholar and earned B.S. and medical degrees from the University of Iowa. He served as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force and practiced general surgery for 30 years in Grinnell.
He married Diane L. Kirts and they were blessed with four daughters: Monica, Kelley, Susanne and Rene. He is survived by Diane and his four daughters.
