Bettie Ladman, 91, passed away Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Northbrook Manor in Cedar Rapids, with her family by her side. A celebration of life will be Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Prime Time on Center Point Road from 3 to 6:30 p.m.
She is survived by her children: son, Steven Ladman; daughters, Sandra (Sam) Steggall, Sue Lucas (Allen) and Tami Bull (Stan); stepchildren, Jennifer Parker, Cindy Brookshire and Rodney Ladman; grandchildren, Denise Burgess, Jim Burgess, Steve Ladman Jr., Karren McCall, Dyane Streebin and Jason Morris; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and sister.
Bettie was born in Marion on Feb. 13 1923, to Charles and Carrie Pickerill. She worked at Rockwell Collins, owned Industrial Sawmill and was a waitress in Laughlin and at the Lighthouse. She enjoyed fishing and always carried her fishing poles with her. Bettie loved NASCAR racing. Bettie also enjoyed Bingo and puzzle books.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Northbrook staff, hospice and Dr. Butler.
