RK Dixon, a regional copier, printer and information technology services company based in Davenport, has been acquired by Global Imaging Systems.
Global Imaging Systems, based in Tampa, Fla., is a Xerox company.
RK Dixon will immediately add Xerox's full range of office and printing technology and managed print services to its product portfolio.
RK Dixon has distributed Canon, Lanier, Lexmark, Samsung, Riso, and HP copiers, printers and multifunction devices in addition to providing document management and IT solutions.
Bryan Dixon will remain as company president and CEO. Jeff Dixon will remain as president of Information Technology.
RK Dixon has office locations in Davenport and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Bloomington, Champaign, Peoria, Rockford and Springfield, Illinois.
GIS said in prepared remarks that the acquisition furthers its coverage of central Illinois and Eastern Iowa, building on the company's strategy to create a nationwide network of locally based companies to improve business performance through efficiencies.
“RK Dixon has built a trusted reputation in Iowa and Illinois, and together we are bringing a powerhouse of technology and services that will help customers operate as productively and seamlessly as possible,” said Tom Salierno, Jr., chief executive officer of GIS, said in prepared remarks.
Bryan Dixon said aligning with GIS demonstrates to customers that the company is committed to reducing costs and driving better performance for them.
RK Dixon was founded by Bryan Dixon's parents, Robert and Carla Dixon, nearly 30 years ago.
