SCHERRIE RINIKER
Cedar Rapids
Scherrie Riniker passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on May 14, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. She was 67.
Scherrie was born on June 9, 1949, a daughter of Celester and Evelyn Jaeger, of Hopkinton. She graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1967. She married Vincent Riniker in 1971. They were married 27 years and had three children.
Scherrie is survived by her three children, Chad (Heather) Riniker of Mount Vernon and Sara (Joe) Lambert and Laura (Nathan) MacKenzie, both of Cedar Rapids; as well as her pride and joy, her nine grandchildren, Chloe, Blaine, Mason, Mazzy, Kael, Xander, Lana, Ainsley and Flynn.
Scherrie touched many lives and made many great friends in her years of employment, from Rockwell Collins, Swiss Valley, Dairy Lab Services and retiring from J&P Cycles in 2014.
She lived for her children and grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than when they were all together for a barbecue, walk to the park or a drink in the backyard. She always made everyone feel special no matter where she went. Her smile and her amazing cookies will be remembered by many.
A Celebration of Life will be held at her home, 805 Owen St. NW, Cedar Rapids, on Friday, May 26, from 3 to 8 p.m. Food and drinks will be served. All are welcome to stop in with pictures and memories to share.
Online condolences may be left at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home's website, www.cedar memorial.com, under obituaries.
