Taylor, Jay Herbert
Jay Herbert Taylor, 64, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Linda of Cedar Rapids; three sons, Ryan Taylor of Cedar Rapids, Cory (Sue) Taylor of Richmond, Va., and Casey (Brooke) Taylor of Lakewood, Colo.; a sister, Jean (Ron) Janes of Maxwell; and three grandchildren, Austin, Andrea and Canyon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brothers.
Jay was born Jan. 25, 1945, the son of Buell and Vina (Vickroy) Taylor. He graduated from Moravia High School in 1963 and William Penn College in 1967. Jay served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. On Jan. 21, 1967, he married Linda Judge. Jay worked as a teacher for five years in Carlisle. He then worked at Walnut Grove/Cargill for over 20 years as well as other agricultural-related sales positions.
