Peters, Alvin D.
Alvin D. Peters, 84, of Independence, died Wednesday evening, Dec. 21, 2011, at Buchanan County Health Center, Independence. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Independence, with the Rev. Kurt Bockoven officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence and from 9 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the church.
He is survived by his wife; Goldie Peters, Independence; four daughters: Peggy (Barrett) Everhart, Leesburg, Va.; Judy (Randy) Miller, Independence; Connie (Bill) Scharff Flora, Spartanburg, S.C.; and Linda (Paul) Aguirre, Austin, Texas; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister; Phyllis Kurz, St. Paul, Neb.
Memorials may be left at the discretion of the family.
