JULIE ANNE CLANCY
Cedar Rapids
Julie Anne Clancy, 60, of Cedar Rapids, began her eternal life in the hands of God on Thursday, March 24, 2016, surrounded by family in her home.
Julie is survived by her children, Abby (Jerry) Clark of Tipton, Libby (Justin) Tuel of Anamosa and Beau (Leah) Clancy of Hiawatha; her siblings: sister, Laura (Dave) Andersen of Marion, brother, John (Jackie) Ingle of Marble Rock, and sister, Lissa (Bill) Pearson of Cedar Rapids; and her three grandchildren, Colton, Dalton and Kayley Clark of Tipton. She is also survived by her beloved dog and best friend in life, Maggie.
Julie was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Ingle; her mother, Mary R. Smith; and her stepfather, Leon Smith.
Julie was born June 26, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Clifford and Mary Ingle. She went to Kennedy High School. Julie was an avid gardener, who loved spending time outdoors and taking road trips with her beloved dog, Maggie.
Julie's strong faith and profound fellowship found through her second and most important journey in her life - her involvement in local chapters of Alcoholics Anonymous, brought her much joy, clarity and empowerment, as well as many new friends whom she loved as family.
Julie worked in catering and food service throughout her entire life, most recently at the Cedar Rapids DoubleTree Hotel, where she was nominated twice for special recognition. She also worked at the Flamingo Restaurant in Cedar Rapids, where you could often find her smiling, managing a full house and many repeat customers whom she befriended wholeheartedly.
Julie was a beautiful homemaker and a loving, empowered woman, who will forever be in our hearts. She will be greatly missed by her family, and all who knew her. To know her was to love her.
A Celebration of Life will be planned and held at a later date, with an announcement to follow in The Gazette. All who knew her will be invited to attend this special celebration and tribute.
