Lyle M. Fox, 69, of Toddville, died Thursday, July 3, 2014, at the Iowa City VA Health Care
System. Me-morial services will be at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Aletha Mae Fox of Toddville; stepdaughter, Beth Ann Noggle of Dubuque; his brothers and sisters; and granddaughter, Kaylee Noggle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Mary Ann Fox; and a brother, Daryl Fox.
Lyle was born Nov. 9, 1944, in Oelwein, Iowa, son of Melvin and Mary Ann (Rosenow) Fox. He graduated from Oelwein High School in 1962. Lyle served in the United States Navy for four tours in Vietnam and received five awards. In 1971, he started working at Rockwell Collins, retiring after 29 years. Lyle married Aletha Mae Simmons on Oct. 10, 1998, at their home. After retiring he worked as a bartender at the Green Gable Bar in Cedar Rapids, Walmart and at Junge Auto in Center Point.
Lyle was a member of Toddville American Legion Post 674. He loved riding his motor trike, working in the yard, tinkering in the garage and his dogs, Elly Mae and Sallie. Lyle adored his mother very much.
