Gloria Mae Lewis, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at Keystone Place in North Liberty. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Larry) Bergdale and Diane (Joe) Miller, both of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Stacy (Howard) Friedman, Amy (Andrew) Hamilton, Scott (Alissa) Bergdale, Steven (Chelsi) Miller, Thomas (Megan) Miller and Megan Miller; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Calvin, Norman and Roger Hesson; and one sister, Sharon Hesson.
Gloria was born April 24, 1928, in Lincoln, Neb., the daughter of Calvin and Marjorie Gardner Hesson. She worked in purchasing at Rockwell Collins and retired from there after many years of service. After retirement, she was a shuttle driver for Saturn until she was 80 years old. She was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church.
Gloria was a very close to her beloved family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving support they received from the staff at Keystone in North Liberty and Hospice of Mercy, especially from Marcia and Joe.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
