Motorcyclist killed in fiery crash near Kalona

IOWA CITY — A rural Kalona man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday.
At 7 p.m., the Johnson County Sheriff's Office was called to a motor vehicle crash involving a minivan and a motorcycle at 5246 Sharon Center Rd SW, Kalona.
According to the sheriff's office, Laura Schrock, of rural Iowa City, and her three children were traveling southbound on Sharon Center Rd in a minivan. Kevin Miller, 23, of rural Kalona, was traveling northbound on his motorcycle and crossed over onto the wrong side of the road, colliding with the minivan.
Both vehicles caught fire following the collision.
Schrock and her children were all unhurt. Miller died at the scene.
Miller was a livestock transporter and attended Pathway Christian School in Kalona, according to his Facebook page.
The crash is under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
