Virginia Clendenen Young of Anamosa passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at home surrounded by her loving family. A private family burial will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Kovilja Clendenen Holman; and her sister, Dara.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, James; two sons, Clarence (Vicki) Clendenen of Ely and Clifford (Jody) Clendenen of Marion; daughter, Kris (Duane) Jacobs of Marion; three brothers, Ted Danube of Merrimac, Wis., Tom Danube of Beaver Creek, Ohio, and Tim Danube of Kearney, Neb.; sister, Stanka Bjalovuk of Jablenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina; stepmother, Dorothy Danube of Baraboo, Wis.; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Virginia was born on Oct. 12, 1936, to John and Jenny Sumonja in Jablencia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and raised in Baraboo, Wis.
A special thank you to my children and grandchildren for their love and kindness all these years. You have given me much happiness during my lifetime with you.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice.
