Warren "Buck" Keck, 93, of Colesburg, currently residing in Strawberry Point, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home.
He was born Oct. 17, 1921, near Colesburg, the son of Herman "Fred" and Virginia "Jennie" (Merten) Keck. Warren was raised and educated in the area and graduated from Colesburg High School.
After graduation, Warren stayed on the farm to help his folks. He served honorably in the United States Army from 1945 to 1947 during World War II. He entered the service in Jefferson Barracks, Mo., did basic training in Camp Robinson, Ark., and was stationed in France, Belgium and Germany.
On Nov. 12, 1947, Warren was united in marriage to Wanda Morley at the Methodist parsonage in Manchester. Three daughters were blessed to this union: Anne, Jane and Judy. They farmed northwest of Colesburg for 20 years before taking employment with the Edgewood-Colesburg school, where he worked as custodian and bus driver. They lived in Colesburg from 1969 until 2008, when they moved to an apartment at the Gernand Center in Strawberry Point.
After retirement in 1984, Warren spent his time fishing, camping, traveling, repairing antiques and reading. He also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda of Strawberry Point; three daughters, Anne (Art) Beyer of Strawberry Point, Jane (Neil) Sherman of Edgewood and Judy (Lonnie) Latteyer of Manchester; a Brazilian daughter, Geni Noceti; grandchildren, Kyle and Danielle Beyer, Andrew and Miranda Beyer, Adam and Lindsey Sherman, Travis Sherman and Briony Maxwell, Jeremy and Lauri Latteyer and Steve and Teresa Unash; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Aidan, Olivia, Alex, Emily, Amber, Jason, Joshua and Ella; a sister, Lois Walters of Colesburg; and a brother-in-law, Cephas (Joanne) Morley of Chatfield, Minn.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Keck; a sister, Virginia Ridenour; a granddaughter, Kara Beyer; and a grandson, Zachary Sherman.

Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, at Colesburg United Methodist Church, Colesburg, with Pastor Mike Jackson officiating. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 11, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood, and one hour before the service Tuesday at the church. Interment, with military rites: Zion Cemetery, Colesburg.
