MARGARET "PEGGY" J. DUFFY HARRINGTON

Margaret "Peggy" J. Duffy Harrington, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at Evergreen Estate III. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at St. Patrick Catholic Church by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family afterward until 7 p.m. and again after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Peggy is survived by her four children, Michael (Susan) of Cedar Rapids, Theresa (Steve) Azlin, Cathleen Harrington and a daughter-in-law, Francine, all of Phoenix, Ariz., and Colleen (Shawn) McKee of Cheyenne, Wyo.; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marilyn (Alvin) Moeller of Marion and Colleen Schropp of Parnell; and two sisters-in-law, Charlene Duffy and Carolyn Duffy, both of Cedar Rapids.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, James; daughter, Maureen; son, Dennis; sister, Kae Powrie; two brothers, John and James; half sister, Nadine Raisley; and half brother, Ted Dwyer.
Peggy Jane was born Dec. 11, 1926, in Parnell, the daughter of Lawrence and Margaret Raher Duffy. She graduated from Parnell High School. On Aug. 29, 1953, she married James Frederick Harrington in Los Angeles, Calif. Margaret worked for Rockwell Collins as an inspector.
Peggy liked singing and dancing and always having the radio on. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed learning about the history of her family.
