CHRISTINE "CHRISTY" L. HARDIN-TOPE

Christine "Christy" L. Hardin-Tope, 53, of Marion, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017. Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at Faith Bible Church in Cedar Rapids. Burial will follow at Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Christy is survived by her children, Marty Tope of Cedar Rapids and Carlee Tope of Chicago, Ill.; her father, John E. Hardin of Burton, Texas; her mother, Bette A. Davis of Marion; her sister, Cathi (Matt) Kane of Marion; nieces and nephews, Josh, Jacqueline and Julia Kane and Ryne, K'lissa and Tiffany Tope; and her special friend, Russell Power. She also is survived by her aunts, Barb Wray, Sandy Bramer, Susan Gallo and Sue Finley.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Darell.
Christy was born March 30, 1964, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of John and Bette (Wingett) Hardin. She graduated from Marion High School in 1982. Christy married Marlan Tope in 1984 and they later divorced. She owned and operated the Garnett Main Salon in Marion.
A memorial fund has been established in Christy's memory.
