Kevin John Stallman, 50, of Urbana, died Thursday, April 7, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, with Father Dustin Vu presiding. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 11, at Brosh Chapel. Private family inurnment will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.
Kevin was born Aug. 5, 1965, in Cedar Rapids, the son of George and Rose (Schulte) Stallman. Kevin was raised in Fairfax, Iowa, and graduated from Cedar Rapids Prairie High School in 1984. Kevin established a strong work ethic early on from working on his family farm and then became an entrepreneur by establishing Society Sweeping and then later
K & A delivery.
Kevin will be remembered by his devotion and dedication to running a successful business while providing for his family. Kevin took pride in his Harley Davidson and also enjoyed bowling and watching NASCAR.
Kevin had a passion for local stock car racing and sponsored several local stock car teams. When Kevin needed help on a project or needed a shoulder to lean on, he was able to rely and depend upon his closest cousins, Danny and Sherry Zamastil.
By and large, Kevin's entrepreneurial, unique, determined and goofy spirit will be remembered and missed by many.
Kevin is survived by his daughter, Amanda Stallman of Wilton; his mother, Rose Stallman of Fairfax; his brother, Brian (Jean) Stallman of Fairfax; his significant other, Kim Evens of Urbana; as well as his nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, George, who died Feb. 7, 2004.
