A Johnson County man accused of killing his girlfriend is now behind bars.
26-year-old Eric Osborn is charged with first-degree murder. Court records show he admitted to killing 34 year-old Sarah McKay March 7 at a home just outside Iowa City.
After a night of drinking, drugs and sex, Osborn told investigators he beat her with a bat and then choked her. Johnson County Sheriff's deputies say Osborn then tried to take his own life.
After Osborn was released from the hospital, deputies took him to the Johnson County Jail.
