Survey seeks opinions about city services in Cedar Rapids
Feb. 15, 2018 7:50 pm
CEDAR RAPIDS - Cedar Rapids wants to hear from you.
The city is participating in the National Citizen Survey, a scientific survey of resident opinions on a range of community issues, and plans to use the results to make decision about using public resources, providing services, addressing priorities and promoting the city. Surveys were mailed to a random sample of homes. Responses are due by mail by Feb. 21 or completed online by Feb. 26.
'The Cedar Rapids City Council and staff are extremely interested in residents' thoughts regarding a variety of topics related to community perceptions, city government services and more,” Sandi Fowler, assistant city manager, said in a statement. 'It is important that invited households participate, as their opinions will be used to gauge the attitudes and opinions of their community.”
The survey responses are confidential. The information will help assess how city government is serving residents, gauge perceptions of the city, and to make comparisons with peer cities, according to a statement. The survey focuses on community livability and includes questions about the quality of life in the community, local policies, demographics, rating of local government services and resident use of services.
The results will be released in May.
The public also participate in an opt-in survey online at bit.ly/cedarrapids2018. Those who received the random sample are urged to complete the mailed version rather than the opt-in version.
