WENDELL "CHUCK" SESSIONS

Chuck Sessions, 94, a U.S. World War II Army Air Corps veteran, passed away Sept. 14, 2017.
Chuck was born June 5, 1923, in Rutland, Vt. He graduated from Pittsfield, Mass., high school, where he was on the ski and hockey teams, and from Iowa Wesleyan College, where he graduated Cum Laude. He was the corporate training manager at Allied Mills Inc. followed by vice president for operations at Vigortone Feed.
Chuck was a loving and dedicated husband, father and friend. He thoroughly enjoyed being with his family. He also enjoyed his involvement in the 8th Air Force Fraternal Society, 490th Bomb Group, Mended Hearts, Kiva and First Presbyterian Church, Cedar Rapids, of which he was a member for 37 years.
Chuck loved working in the yard, making beautiful furniture for his kids, and helping them out with home projects, like building decks, painting and working on cars. We will miss him dearly.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Sessions; son, Ward; daughters, Jo (Fran) Castro, Barb (Tom) Stone and Becky (Rick) Sitz; grandchildren, Chris, Alisa, Brady, Beth, Katie, Megan, Sam, Tom and Andy; and great-granddaughter, Kaylee.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon; his mother, Elizabeth; sister, Mary; and first wife, Doris Sessions.
Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 18, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, 4200 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, followed by a private graveside service.
