Janet Anstrom, 70, of
Hiawatha, died surrounded by her loving family, Sunday, July 6, 2014, at her home. A gathering for family and friends will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at Murdoch-Linwood
Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, John; two sons, Mark Anstrom of Beaumont, Texas, and David Anstrom of Ames; her mother, Frances Beltz of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Don Haugse; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Merle) Adams; a nephew, Steve Haugse; a niece, Kathy Adams; and the Anstroms' dog, Cody.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Beltz; and sister,
Arlene Haugse.
Janet was born Sept. 23, 1943, the daughter of Clarence and Frances (Cejka) Beltz in Cedar Rapids,
Iowa. A graduate from Springville High School, she was united in marriage to John Anstrom on Dec. 5, 1970, in Springville.
Janet worked in the insurance industry for many years, retiring from United Fire & Casualty Company. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids and Project Linus. An avid quilter, she also enjoyed sewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hiawatha Public Library or the American Cancer
Society in memory of
Janet.
