MARTHA HISCOCK SANNER

Martha Hiscock Sanner, 88, died Saturday, April 16, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids.
Martha was born Dec. 18, 1927, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Fred and Bessie Hiscock of Iowa City. She graduated from Iowa City High School in 1946 and from the University of Iowa in 1950, receiving her B.A. in German. She taught high school in Iowa and married Richard Sanner of Anamosa in 1953. They literally traveled the world together from 1953 until just before Richard's death in 2000.
She was a member of Delta Phi Alpha, honorary German Fraternity, life member of Zeta Tau Alpha, Women's Social Fraternity, Boston Tea Party Chapter of the DAR and the First Presbyterian Church of Cedar Rapids.
Martha is survived by a brother-in-law, Dr. John Sanner and wife Marilyn of Illinois; many cousins in
Iowa and elsewhere; as well as friends from 1934; and special friend, Bill Fields.
Her body is being donated to the University of
Iowa College of Medicine.
