TERRANCE PATRICK EDWARDS
Cedar Rapids
Terrance Patrick Edwards, 63, passed away Oct. 1, 2017, in San Diego, Calif., following a valiant four-year battle against cancer. According to his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Alternatively, the family has organized a private celebration of life ceremony to honor his memory.
Terry was born in Cedar Rapids on Aug. 15, 1954, to Norval L. and Mary E. (Callan) Edwards. He graduated from Regis High School in 1972 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Iowa in 1976. Terry married his college sweetheart, Melissa (Missy) Harris, in the summer of 1976. Their loving relationship was blessed by the birth of two daughters, Andrea and Amy. Career opportunity motivated a family move to California. While Terry spent the majority of his adult life living, working and raising a family in San Diego, he loyally maintained an intimate connection to Cedar Rapids and trusted childhood friends.
Terry was an owner of a business that supplied specialty baked breads to San Diego's finest restaurants and hotels. Sociable by nature, he had a flair for networking and relationship-building that proved beneficial throughout his professional and personal life. He was an avid golfer, all-around sports aficionado and a shameless lover of Hawkeye football and basketball teams, whose accomplishments rarely aligned with his boundless optimism.
Left to cherish his memory are the love of his life, wife, Missy; daughter, Andrea (Brian) Bowrin, and grandchildren, Mackenzee, Caden, Greyson, Reese and Presley; daughter, Amy (Joe) Nouguier, and grandchildren, Rylan and Hadley; sister, Maureen Fletcher; brother, Tom (Alexa) Edwards; nephews, Kevin (Jordan) Fletcher and Andrew (Bethany) Edwards; niece, Morgan (Brad) Lindemann; and a large group of friends.
Terry was a special husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He lived life to the fullest and left us far too soon.
