Kimm, Edwin Dwayne
Edwin Dwayne Kimm, 88, of Norway, died Friday, July 30, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Walford, by Pastor David Mosher. Interment: Linwood Cemetery, rural Norway. A visitation will be held at the church from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is handling arrangements.
Edwin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nina; children, Nancy (Steve) Janett of Schererville, Ind., Doug (Kerry) Kimm, Steven (Debbie) Kimm and Joel (Barbara) Kimm, all of Norway; sister, Marian (Paul) Moseman of Kansas City, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Stein and Evelyn Kimm; and a grandson, Joshua Wilcox.
Edwin was born Oct. 14, 1921, near Norway, Iowa, to Fred and Clara Kimm. He married Nina Louise Bogue on June 12, 1945. Edwin farmed in the Norway area his whole life and operated a custom shelling and trucking business. He drove school bus for the Norway and Benton Community School Districts for over 30 years. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Edwin enjoyed playing bridge and going out to dinner. He most enjoyed spending time with his family.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Mercy Medical Center and Hospice of Mercy for their care and comfort the last months.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Edwin's name may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
