Ask: Supervisor Pay
N/A
Feb. 9, 2015 9:35 am, Updated: Feb. 9, 2015 10:06 am
Last week's vote to increase county elected officials' pay by 2 percent boosted Linn County Board of Supervisors' salaries to more than $100,000 each. That's less than what Polk County pays supervisors but significantly more than the supervisors in Scott, Johnson and Black Hawk counties, who work part-time. Is the cost warranted? Should Linn County board include five full-time supervisors, as it has since 2013? Should the board revert to part-time, as it was in 2009, when the two supervisors were added?
