Afghan war failing; direct money elsewhere
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Sep. 16, 2009 12:11 am
I cried when I read the Sept. 4 article “Death knell” in The Gazette.
I believe the two people responsible for the story should receive an award for their work. They were eyewitnesses to the senseless murder of a young man gunned down doing his duty for his country, a senseless war accomplishing nothing, using money better spent elsewhere.
Instead of our brave youths being slaughtered in a foreign land, bring back our young men and women to their homes and futures.
Let our government protect our borders, be wary of the immigrants arriving from unfriendly countries, including foreign students entering our universities.
Let our servicemen serve and protect our shores. We have accomplished nothing in Afghanistan. Stop this insanity.
