Catherine Ida Shaull, 80, of Tipton, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home. Friends and family may gather at Fry Funeral Home for a time of visitation on Wednesday, June 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 9, also at Fry's. Interment will follow at Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Memorials in Catherine's honor may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or the Shaull family. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com.
On Jan. 9, 1936, Catherine was born in Belle Plaine, Iowa, to Charles and Gladys (Warriner) Root. She attended and graduated from Ladora High School with the class of 1954. In Victor, on June 19, 1954, Catherine married the love of her life, the late Thomas Daniel Shaull. Together they were blessed with five children, Tom Jr., Neil, Mark, Janet and Tara.
Catherine's years of employment were spent in customer service centers and banks, with the majority of the banking years being at U.S. Bank in Tipton. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Tipton Country Club and Women's Bowling Association.
Catherine is survived by her five children, Tom Jr. (Serena) Shaull of Brooklyn, Neil (Joyce Moreland) Shaull of Lowden, Mark (Carla) Shaull of Bennett, Janet (Kevin) Anderson of Tipton and Tara (Kathy) Gravert-Shaull of Stanwood; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Mary Beth Coffman and Janice Smith; and brothers, Charles "Gene," George and Monte.
