Molitor, Perkins to appear at Kernels’ Hot Stove Banquet

CEDAR RAPIDS - New Minnesota Twins Manager Paul Molitor and all-star closer Glen Perkins will appear as part of the team's winter caravan at the Cedar Rapids Kernels' annual Hot Banquet on Tuesday, January 13, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in downtown Cedar Rapids.
Molitor, a Hall of Fame player, was named Twins skipper last month. He also appeared at last year's banquet.
Perkins got the save in last year's Major League Baseball All-Star Game. Also scheduled to appear is new Twins third-base coach Gene Glynn and Kris Atteberry of the Twins Radio Network.
Inducted into the Cedar Rapids Baseball Hall of Fame during the banquet will be former Cedar Rapids Giants outfielder Chili Davis, late Kernels pitcher Nick Adenhart, longtime housing coordinator Lanny Peterson and Burt Wilson.
Tickets to the banquet are $40 in advance and $45 at the door, with corporate tables of 10 available for $350. Contact the Kernels (363-3887) for tickets and information.
