Snowstorm arrives in Eastern Iowa

The long-predicted snowstorm has arrived in Eastern Iowa.
A mix of precipitation early this morning switched to all snow around 8:30 a.m. in Cedar Rapids. Episodes of 'thundersnow” - heavy snowfall accompanied by thunder - were also reported this morning.
Forecasters maintain the storm will bring 2 to 4 inches of snow to the Cedar Rapids area, with heavier amounts to the north and west. Power outages were also being reported in portions of Eastern Iowa.
Winds are expected to pick up as the storm moves through the area, bringing limited visibility and hazardous driving conditions.
