LELAND "LEE" PAUL KENNEY
Cedar Rapids
Leland "Lee" Paul Kenney, 73, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. At the family's request, there will be no services. Arrangements made by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home
& Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Lee was born April 23, 1945, in Stanwood, Iowa, the son of Paul and Dora (Yeater) Kenney. He graduated from high school in Clarence, Iowa. Lee married Frances
Harper on Aug. 6, 1964, in Little Rock, Ark. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Little Rock. Lee was a truck driver until retirement in 2012 but kept busy delivering pizzas for Papa John's. He enjoyed his time behind the wheel, being able to visit many places across the country. Lee also enjoyed taking special trips with his wife, Frances, to the Caribbean and Hawaii. Christmas was his favorite time of year. Family was very important to Lee, especially his grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Grampy," and the holidays afforded everyone time to gather as one.
Lee is survived by his wife, Frances Kenney; daughter, Kristina Kenney; and son, Leland William (Jodi) Kenney, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Tanner and Nickolas Graham and Elizabeth and Breanna Kenney; and brother, Elmer (Mary) Kenney, of the Quad Cities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and three brothers.
