Brock, Geneva J.
Geneva J. Brock, 90, of Marion, died at her home on Sunday, April 3, 2011, after a short illness. Services at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include two daughters, Kay (Ian) Lamphier of Mount Vernon, and Carol (Robert) Moroney of Manchester. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Matt (Linda) Moroney, Mike (Diana) Moroney, Joe (Johanna) Moroney, Molly (Joyce) Champeau, Suzy (Dana) Good, Sarah (Randy) Garcia, Wendy (Mike) Roltgen, and Becky (Chris) Danielson; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Geneva was born on Jan. 6, 1921, in Sigourney, the daughter of Harold and Bonnie Smith Strobel. She married Glenn A. Brock on Nov. 23, 1940, in Webster. He died in 2007. Geneva was a clerk for the United States Department of Agriculture for 15 years, retiring in 1971. She was member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Geneva was an avid gardener and an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, canning and especially spending time with her friends and beloved family. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed and always remembered.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Lukes Hospice.
