1. Iowa is the only team in Divison I with two road wins over ranked opponents (North Carolina, Ohio State).
2. Iowa hasn't started 2-0 in the Big Ten since the 2002-03 season.
3. Nebraska and Iowa are the only Big Ten teams with three players in the top 20 of Big Ten rebounding.
4. Iowa has one starter (Mike Gesell, South Sioux City) from Nebraska. The Cornhuskers have none.
5. Nebraska started the last Big Ten season with four losses. It finished 11-7 in the league.
6. Iowa's Aaron White is four made free throws from tying the school career record of 516, owned by Roy Marble Sr.
7. Iowa's NCAA tournament record is 27-25. Nebraska's NCAA record is 0-7.
8. Nebraska guard Tai Webster formerly played with the Waikato Pistons of Austraila's National Basketball League.
9. Former Northern Iowa guard Ali Farokhmanesh, who prepped at Iowa City West, is a graduate assistant manager with Nebraska.
10. Husker starter Shavon Shields was a First-Team Academic All-District VII last year for having a 3.77 GPA. He is a microbiology major. Iowa's Gesell has been invited to become a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the National Scholastic Honor Society for business students. That's for students who are in the top 10 percent of their class academically.
11. Nebraska lost to Incarnate Word in Lincoln last month. That really happened.
12. Stuart, Iowa is almost exactly halfway between Iowa City and Lincoln. 'Scoop the Loop” is a popular event in Stuart. Is there anything more American than scooping the loop?
