VALETA M. SCHNELL-KRAMER

Valeta M. Schnell-Kramer, of Toddville, Iowa, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, after a short illness at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, Iowa. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Zion Lutheran Church, Hiawatha, Iowa, conducted by the Rev. Daniel Krueger. Burial: Squires Oliphant Cemetery, Toddville.
Valeta was born April 23, 1928, in rural Linn County, to Orval and Ruth (Snodgrass) Cress. She married Curtis Schnell on June 14, 1945. Curtis passed away in 2002. Valeta married Robert Kramer in July of 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church, Hiawatha. She was a farm wife on the family farm in Toddville and Valeta also worked at Rockwell Collins until retirement.
Valeta was a member of the Toddville American Legion Auxiliary, Zion Lutheran Church and the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her husband, Robert W. Kramer; children, Sheryl (John "Boots") Schumacher, Fred (Melodee) Schnell and Becky (Dan) Kane; grandchildren, Rachel (Todd) Ament, Sam (Melissa) Schumacher, Lindsay Schnell, A.J. Schnell, Taylor Schnell and Libby Kane; great-grandsons, Jacob, Joey, James and Jaxson Delarm; special cousins, Freda Carrothers and Shirley Lanning; several nieces and nephews; and goddaughters, Pam Behrens Carlson, Brenda Lanning Krause and Julie Thompson Hollan.
Valeta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Curtis; and her sister and brother.
She enjoyed her flower gardens as well as feeding and watching the birds. Valeta enjoyed spending time outdoors at the farm.
