Meet Me at the Market returns to Cedar Rapids today

CEDAR RAPIDS - The 2017 season of Meet Me at the Market gets underway today with a free exercise event from 5 to 8 p.m. at NewBo City Market, 1100 Third St. SE, Cedar Rapids.
The event continues each Thursday evening through September.
Participants can register at meetmecr.org. Check-in takes place each week from 5 to 7 p.m. at the market or online after 3 p.m. on Thursdays.
The group walk (1-4 miles) stars at 5:30 p.m., the run (1-10 miles) at 5:45 p.m. and the bicycle ride (5 to 30 miles) at 6 p.m. Helmets are required for the bike ride.
The dance class starts at 6 p.m. and the yoga class at 7 p.m. at the Bankers Trust Stage at NewBo. Those who attend are asked to bring their own yoga mats.
Parking is available in city lot 44 at the intersection of 11th Avenue and Second Street SE.
Meet Me at the Market was established in 2013. Last year, more than 3,600 people registered and 442 people, on average, took part in Thursday night events.

Free yoga is offered at Newbo City Market on Thursday evenings for 'Meet Me at the Market' from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in May through September. You must bring your own mat to the practice. 'Meet Me at the Market' also offers other activities, such as walking, running, biking or cardio workouts. All events are free. Attend three or more times and you'll receive a free t-shirt.
