Max E. Taylor, 92, of Mechanicsville, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, at Trinity UnityPoint, Muscatine. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Stanwood, with Pastor Jan Horne officiating. Burial: Stanwood Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services Saturday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine of Muscatine; sons, Dennis (Cindy) of Muscatine and Gary (LeAnn) of Greensboro, N.C.; grandchildren, Sara (George) Demos, Matt (Becky) Taylor, Luke Taylor, Aubrey Taylor, Kaylyn Taylor and Mitchell and Jake Braden; great-grandchildren, Landon and Ian Taylor; and sister, Doris (Norman) Weist of Rochester, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Evelyn Fox.
Max was born Dec. 22, 1922, in Plato, Iowa, to Charles Ivan and Minnie Parsons Taylor. He married Lorraine Lehrman on June 16, 1946, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stanwood.
Max was a great dad and loving husband. He had a passion for livestock farming and enjoyed playing piano in hospitals and nursing homes, as well as St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Max had a great work ethic and his favorite quote was, "I didn't waste my time."
