What was the last book you read?

Recently I presented at the Knights of Columbus spring convention and the person that spoke before me spoke about a book called “Heaven is for Real.” It is an amazing story of a little boy's journey to heaven and back.

It was an awe-inspiring story that also reminded me to appreciate having healthy, happy children, something that no one should take for granted.

What's the best day of the week to be in a meeting?

Any day because I make my own schedule. I like lunch meetings, so I can help clients in the morning, have lunch during the meeting and help another client in the afternoon.

It is very efficient to meet and eat at the same time.

What do you always have close at hand at your desk?

My laptop, office supplies and a notebook to write everything down so I don't let any details slip through the cracks.

Did you have a job while you were in school?

While in school, I had two jobs. I worked as a dietary aide in a nursing home and cleaned apartments for a property manager to get the apartments ready for new tenants.

What was your first car?

My first car was a Ford Taurus. I lived in the country and got my school permit at age 14 so my parents didn't have to drive me around to sports practices and games.

Did you have a mentor?

My mom has always been my mentor. She has always led by example, showing courage, strength and grace in the face of adversity. She had the courage to leave an abusive relationship, she survived Stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma and she turned a rebellious teenager into a successful and creative entrepreneur. I love her more than anything.

Where is your favorite vacation spot?

I enjoy the peacefulness of camping and spending time outdoors with my family. Serenity is the key to health and balance.

But to change things up a bit, I also enjoy a long weekend in Chicago seeing the sites, Navy Pier, Wrigley Field, etc.
