DONALD BUCHTELA

Donald W. Buchtela, 85, a resident of Manor Care, died there Saturday, June 27, 2015. Memorial services will be at a later date. Iowa Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Ronda Buchtela of Urbana and Kelly Buchtela of Rowley; a son, Duane Buchtela of Vinton; and four sisters. He also is survived by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; and a daughter, Susan Teel.
Don was born Sept. 5, 1929, in Vinton, the son of William and Jeanette Mitchell Buchtela. He married Evelyn Boyles on May 22, 1959, in Iowa City. Evelyn passed away in 2010.
Don was a truck driver for D.C. Taylor and Gee Grading and Excavation for many years. He proudly served in both the Army and Navy.
Don enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards, watching western movies, and especially the time spent with his family and many friends.
A memorial fund has been established in Don's name.
